President Maithripala Sirisena left for Indonesia on the afternoon of March 06, to attend the Indian Ocean Rim Association Leader’s Summit in Jakarta.
The delegation led by President Sirisena was greeted at the Soekarno–Hatta International Airport by officials, including the Indonesian Minister of Housing and Public Amenities, and Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Indonesia.
The IORA Leaders Summit has been organised around the central theme of promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region.
The first leader’s summit has been organised in line with the IORA’s 20th anniversary.President Sirisena will address the summit at the opening session tomorrow, March 07.
