State Minister Dilan Perera charges that there is obstruction to attempts made by the Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure to provide unrestricted access to new technology
He said that attempts are being made by ‘individuals attached to various commissions in air-conditioned rooms in Colombo ‘ to block Harin Fernando who is trying to bring Google Loon and grant unrestricted access to the new technology
“.. Harin Fernando is attempting to bring in Google Loon and grant unrestricted access to new technology to everyone in the country. There are individuals attached to various commissions in air-conditioned rooms in Colombo who are blocking these attempts. He had recently said that he could do it but certain individuals….. There is someone called Muhunthan, he is notorious for accepting commissions. At a time when the president is forging ahead with his plans to get rid of fraud and corruption, there are those who want to block his path.”
Speaking at a public rally in the Hali-Ela area in Badulla today, the State Minister spoke on the direction that the CBSL Bond Scam is taking, adding that Mahinda Rajapaksa is not responsible for the Bond Scam, and certain individuals in the government are protecting those responsible for the financial fraud that took place by attempting to rationalize the scam saying it was a part of procedure.
” Now they are starting to create a fairy-tale in broad daylight to protect these rogues. We need to identify these tricksters. These are the same persons who are sabotaging the efforts of Harin Fernando in relation to Google Loon ..”.
