A workshop for the conservation and management of wild elephants took place on January 24.
The event was organised by the 123 year old Wildlife and Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka, which was attended by prominent personalities in wild life conservation.
Matters pertaining to the internalising elephant ranging patterns were discussed at the event.
The Wildlife and Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka is incidentally the third oldest non-governmental organisation of its kind in the world and was responsible for the setting up and administration of first national parks in Sri Lanka, and the formation of the Department of Wildlife Conservation.
