Five individuals, including a P.E. Instructor of a government school, have been arrested over the alleged brutal assault of a teenage student.
According to the police, the victim of the alleged assault is a fourteen-year-old, grade 10 student.
A complaint has been lodged with the police noting that the PE instructor had forced the student to play rugger instead of badminton and had taken him to the rugger sports room.
The complaint further adds that the student was forced to suspend from an iron bar, and upon his refusal to comply with the wishes of the PE instructor, he was allegedly brutally assaulted with iron bars.
The student who sustained injuries following the alleged assault has been admitted to the National Hospital and is currently receiving in-house treatment.
Those arrested in connection to the incident are residents of Dematagoda and Borella. They will be produced before the Hulftsdorp Court No. 2 today, January 24.
