Sri Lankans know that Sahana Yathra initiated by Sirasa, Shakthi, TV1, MBC and News 1st  is always by their side to assist them in their times of need. In difficult times, we have always reached out to those in distress – with aid, comfort and concern.

At a time when a drought has gripped the whole country and people continue to suffer without a drop of water to drink, let alone for other purposes, the Sahana Yathra has sprung to their rescue. The milk of human kindness is one that flows at this moment in time – and we want to tell these suffering people to wipe their tears – that relief is on the way.

The Sahana Yathra was relaunched on January 20, in order to assist the victims of the prevailing drought.

Today, January 20 marks the second day of the programme. Thus, a kind request is made too all those concerned citizens to join in hands with us in helping the victimised.

We request water, rice, milk powder, dhal, sugar and lorries to deliver the goods,  to drought-stricken areas.

Aid collection will continue till 10 p.m. today and the goods will be dispatched the affected areas on Saturday, January 21.

Donations will be accepted at the following locations :

> MTV, MBC, Head Office (Braybrooke Place, Colombo 02)
> The Stein Studios, Ratmalana
> The Depanama Studio Complex
> Harrison Office in Darley Road
