President Maithripala Sirisena has said that innovative methods should be implemented in order to face the inclement drought condition in the country and to minimise any inconveniences that may be caused.
The President noted that the drought should be harnessed to strengthen Sri Lanka’s development process in risk mitigation and risk prevention in case of natural disasters.
He made this statement at a gathering of agricultural institutions falling under the purview of the Ministry of Agriculture, where he also said that it is the officials in the industry who can help the government in implementing plans for sustainable development.
