The Inter Company Employees’ Union staged a protest march to the Central Bank on Thursday January 19.

The protest was staged calling for measures against the bond transactions.

Members of the Inter Company Employees Union, who marched to the Central Bank in protest against the inaction towards the bond issue, requested for a meeting with the Central Bank Governor.

The protesters claimed that they have not received a response to the letter which was addressed to the Central Bank Governor two weeks ago.

Police barriers were put in place to control the protesters.

Thereafter, five of the protesters were granted the opportunity to meet with the Governor.

Chairman of the Inter Company Employees Union Wasantha Samarasinghe, speaking to media said that they will not look on for so long until these thieves are punished.
