The Sirasa, Shakthi, TV1, MBC and News 1st Sahana Yathra is set to commence at 8:30 a.m. today, January 19.

It has been observed that severe drought conditions are affecting the whole country. In view of the hardships experienced by those living in drought-affected areas, The Capital Maharaja Organisation has taken steps to help eradicate the suffering of this helpless section of our society.

Men, women and children in villages countrywide are suffering as the sun continues to beat down on them each day. The parched land has not yielded any food for them, and they wake up each day to a scorching sun and a burning within.

It is to these people that we are reaching out.

We request all of you to donate generously as we The Capital Maharaja Organisation and the general public value your offerings as we forge ahead with our good efforts.

The programme will begin accepting donations at the following collection points:

> MTV, MBC, Head Office (Braybrooke Place, Colombo 02)
> The Stein Studios, Ratmalana
> The Depanama Studio Complex
> Harrison Office in Darley Road

Donations will be accepted for two days before they are dispatched to affected areas on Saturday, January 21.

Our requests include water, rice, milk powder, dhal, sugar and lorries to deliver the goods to drought-stricken areas.
