Responsibilities of the Sri Lanka Survey Department’s are allegedly set to be transferred to a US-based company.
According to the Government Surveyors’ Association, the required plans are already in place to complete the transfer.
The government has claimed the United States has “forced this (the transfer) on us (SL)”. But the association’s Chairman Duminda Udugoda says that there is a clear scandal at hand.
The association has cautioned the government to not lay hands on the department. He also said that the press briefing is “the first measure we (the association) are taking today.” and has warned of more action in the near future.
Udugoda also say that the GSA is not a trade union which “falls prey to money”
