The Peethawa village faces not one, but two problems – no clean drinking water and lack of basic infrastructure facilities. Both of which, we the urban folk take for granted day in, day out.
The village is located in the Yatiyantota Divisional Secretariat, Kegalle and was severely inconvenienced for many years due to the absence of a drinking water project, and other health concerns due to the lack of basic infrastructure facilities.
“… A child was hospitalised for a stomach ache after washing clothes from the canal …”
News 1st did not turn a blind eye to the issues of these people. We intervened to solve their issues with the assistance of ‘Small Hydro Power Developers Association’.
