Masked men enter Kalutara bank: Minuwangoda’s Mystery – fisherman discovers floating chest

Security officers attached to a state bank in Katukurunda area in Kalutara opened fire at a group of bank robbers who allegedly entered the bank.

Police said that two masked men in motorcycles had demanded the teller at the bank to hand over the money to them.

The bank security officer had then opened fire at the robbers, prompting a gun fight between the robbers and the security guards.

However, the robbers had managed to flee the location.

Meanwhile..

A weapons chest was discovered being washed away in the Dandugam Oya in the Opatha area in Katugoda, Minuwangoda.

A fishermen who had set off on Wednesday morning had witnessed the floating weapons chest.

However, the Minuwangoda Police have commenced investigations into the incident. Three fire arms and a hand grenade were discovered from the chest.
