“The army is disappointed in the politicians who speak about military conspiracies”, says Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne.

“As the commander I can assure you that the army is disappointed in those who talk about a conspiracy. As a military force, ever since we received independence we have never committed such acts”, said the Commander.

The Vice Admiral says that there is no need to commit such an act and that the forces will “never do anything like that.”

The Navy Commander also requested the relevant individuals to not drag the Army into such things as the forces “do not have any idea of engaging in a conspiracy”.
