US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will attempt to “normalise US-Russia ties”, according to the Kremlin following a phone conversation between the two.
The Russian President had wished that Donald Trump would have “success in implementing the election programme”. Mr.Trump, who had praised Putin during the election campaign said there should be an “enduring relationship with Russia”.
The Kremlin had revealed that Mr.Trump and Mr.Putin had spoken on Syria during their discussion and came to an agreement on Russian-US relations calling it “extremely unsatisfactory”.
The Kremlin also noted that Mr Putin and Mr Trump had agreed to stay in touch by phone and arrange to meet in person at a later date.
