Police officers among those injured in Habaraduwa brawl

A brawl that erupted in the Meepe area in Habaraduwa has injured two police officers, a thero and two residents.  The brawl had erupted after a three wheeler, which was transporting material used for an event at the temple in the area, collided with a motorcycle.

The chief incumbent of the temple,  who also suffered injuries in the brawl,  is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching hospital. Officers from Ahangama, Galle, Habaraduwa and the Galle Harbour had been called in to control the situation.

Two officers who were injured have been admitted to the Habaraduwa district hospital. A suspect has been arrested in connection to the incident. The Habaraduwa police is carrying out investigations into the incident.
