The Met Department warns of a high possibility of heavy showers or thundershowers at most parts of the country, particularly in the evening.

The department noted that heavy falls (about 100-150mm) can be expected at some places particularly, in the Uva, Central and Eastern Provinces.

The department adds that showers will also occur along the coastal area in the morning too.

The Met Department said that there may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers and advice the general public to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by lightning.
