Speaker of the National Council of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland Christa Markwalder held bilateral discussions with the Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya on Friday.

The Speaker of the Swiss Parliament arrived in the country on an invitation extended by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. Christa Markwalder viewed the parliamentary sessions today, from the gallery.

Bilateral talks were thereafter held at the Speaker’s office. She also called on Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan.

Speaker of the Swiss Parliament Christa Markwalder also met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
