The Joint Opposition convened a media briefing on Thursday.
UPFA MP, Janaka Wakkumbura stated that President Maithripala Sirisena had said that when he called to impose a tax on tobacco, the cabinet did not do so. And when he wants to impose a tax on tobacco it was increased only by six rupees.
“That is why we call on him to let go of the UNP and remove the Prime Minister, and create a Sri Lanka Freedom Party Government”, said MP Wakkumbura, who pointed out that the SLFP has 95 members and they have 106 members.
“If we create a government, we can enforce his policies”, he said.
