SL Air Traffic Controllers Association commences trade union action

The Air Traffic Controllers Association Sri Lanka, or SLATCA, has commenced a work-to-rule trade union action, citing a number of demands.

Secretary to the Air Traffic Controllers Association Sri Lanka, Sajuna Hadaragama, said that as a result of their trade union action, there is a possibility for delays in flights scheduled at Sri Lankan airports.

When News 1st made inquiries, Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Ashok Abeysinghe, said that he will look into the matter and take necessary steps in order to resolve the situation.

However, in the latest development Vice President of the Air Traffic Controllers Association Sri Lanka, Tharindu Gajadeera stated that they will be holding discussions with the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Nimal Siripala de Silva and Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Ashok Abeysinghe regarding this matter.
