The discussion on the misuse of state-owned vehicles during the previous administration has come to the limelight yet again. Former minister Wimal Weerawansa was summoned to the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division again on Monday over a similar incident.
MP Wimal Weerawansa was questioned by the FCID for over five hours with regard to investigations underway into the alleged misuse of state-owned vehicles during the tenure of the previous government.
UPFA Parliamentarian,Wimal Weerawansa stated that from a sheet of around 100 questions, the FCID was able to get answers for 25 to 30 questions today.
“They said that I would be informed of the next day I should appear at the division”, he said.
He explained that an Indian minister has come to the country today for a decisive meeting on the signing of the ETCA agreement, and what the government is trying to do is “to suppress the opposing forces and divert the attention of the general public.”
