The dry weather conditions prevalent in the country is making it difficult for people to access clean drinking water sources. The people of Rendapola in Lunugala, Badulla are making every effort to obtain drinking water.

The people of this village have to scramble to obtain water from a bowser that supplies water twice a day.

The Paragahawatta village located in Karathota in Kirinda, Matara has only water available in two wells but villagers point out that the water is unsuitable for consumption.

While those who have no choice, use this water despite its condition, others travel for several kilometres by tractor to obtain water.
