The Speaker of Parliament on Thursday, September 22, announced that the Nation Building Tax Amendment Bill does not violate the constitution, as determined by the Supreme Court.
During his announcement of the Nation Building Tax Amendment bill, the Speaker requested the MPs of the parliament not to act in violation of standing orders, and to not accuse each other in Parliament, as it tarnishes the reputation of the parliament.
He also stated that the people’s attention has been drawn towards the chaotic behaviour of a number of opposition MPs, and such behaviour would bring disrepute to parties they represent. The Speaker added that if it continues to happen, he will have to take stern action against them.
