President Maithripala Sirisena left for USA to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
President Sirisena will lead a delegation to the 71st General Assembly of United Nations that will be opening in New York tomorrow.
President Sirisena will make an address at the General Assembly.
Incidentally , this will be the second time that President Maithripala Sirisena will address the UNGA after being elected to office.
This will also be the final occassion on which US President Barack Obama will address the UNGA.
In addition, outgoing Un Chief Ban Ki-moon will also made his final address to member states at this United Nations General Assembly.
