Gammadda 100-Day initiative opens drinking water project in Akuressa

Work on a water project located along the Thalgahahena road in Akuressa, under the News1st Gammadda 100-Day programme commenced on Thursday..

A majority of the people living in Akuressa have been surviving on the measly amount of water which is obtained by digging up holes. This has been the sole reason for many of the diseases diagnosed in the area.

People living along the Thalahahena road, expressed their gratitude as they have never experienced a time when they were offered a helping hand by anyone.

All preparations have been made, to commence work on the water project which is initiated to provide water for the people of Walpola -Godahena in Akuressa.

The project was sponsored by the Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation.
