A special investigation has been commenced by the Colombo University in connection to the medical student who was found dead in one of the university hostels.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Lakshman Dissanayake said that the Deputy Registrar had been asked to present a report in this regard.
The vice chancellor said that they hope to submit the report to the Governing Board of the university that convenes on Wednesday.
An open verdict was issued on Monday following the post-mortem examination conducted on the deceased medical student.
Thereby, the Judicial Medical Officer who conducted the examination ordered that certain body parts be forwarded to the Government Analyst for further examination.
