The Immigration and Emigration Department has taken steps to award dual citizenship to another 1700 individuals.

Controller General of the Immigration and Emigration Department Nihal Ranasinghe said that the over 1400 persons have been granted dual citizenship in the country from March 2015 up to date.

He added that they hope to conduct procedures on granting dual citizenship on a monthly basis in the future.
