The Consumer Affairs Authority has decided to make it mandatory to set standards for cooking oils. Chairman Hasitha Thilakarathna said that they hope to protect consumers from sub-standard cooking oils available in the market.
The Consumer Affairs Authority has been carrying out raids in order to uncover sales of substandard cooking oils.
The chairman said that they will set the new regulations to ensure that cooking oils meet Sri Lankan standards.
