The Auditor General’s Department has taken measures to launch an investigation into the Central Bank bond issue once again, as per request of Finance Minister, Ravi Karunayake.
Accordingly, a detailed report is said to be made into the bond transactions that took place at the Central Bank from the years 2009 to 2015.
When News1st made inquiries in this regard from Auditor General, Gamini Wijeysinghe,, he confirmed that the investigations have commenced into compiling the said report.
He added that officials at the Central Bank have shown the fullest co-operation by agreeing to provide the necessary documents, needed for the compilation of the report.
