Fifteen chief justices from the Asian region, signed the Colombo Declaration to uphold the rule of law and independence of the Judiciary
The declaration was signed at the 29th Law Asia Conference currently being held in Colombo. Signatories of the declaration are bound to uphold and protect the law for all citizens of the world.
A communique issued by Law Asia states that Chief Justices from Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Guam, Papua New Guinea, Nepal, Thailand and Timor signed the declaration on Saturday..
