President Maithripala Sirisena attended a special interview on Saturday.
The interview was moderated by Journalist Shan Wijetunege and was also attended by Minister Susil Premajayantha and Deputy Minister Ajith P.Perera.
The president noted that everyone is having a novel experience on the operations of the government and this government is something new to the general public, the members of the government, politicians in the country, public servants, businessman – and all citizens of this country.
“We are a strong and sound government. As president, I received over 6.2 million votes of the people”, he said
He added that there is a 2/3 majority in Parliament and the recent Human Rights Council resolution questioned as to why there is a delay even though there is 2/3 majority in parliament but it is clear that this is a strong government and not a weak government.
“We can present a number of facts. We are clearly a strong government and the government cannot be shaken”, he said.
