Former senior DIG Anura Senanayake and the former Crimes OIC of the Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who were arrested over the murder of Wasim Thajudeen were further remanded until August 10 when they were produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohammed Nihar.
Senior State Counsel Dilan Ratnayake stated in court on Wednesday that investigations conducted into the incident have revealed a suspicious telephone conversation between the Presidential Secretariat and the former Crimes OIC of the Narahenpita Police.
The Senior State Counsel informed court that a thorough investigation is underway in this regard.
