The charred remains of a woman was discovered from within a house in Mattegoda. Police states that the remains were found following a tip off received on Friday morning.

Police added that the deceased woman is believed to have been conducting extra classes for children of the area while living in the house on rent. Her residency has not yet been confirmed.

Investigations are being carried out into the case. An inquiry into the death is scheduled to be conducted as well.
