Speaking on the proposed Pada Yathra,  Leader of the Joint Opposition, MP Dinesh Gunawardena stated that the government has begun to tremble. The current UNP-led government which is against the public, democracy, good governance is on a dangerous path – leaning towards their defeat.

In reply to questions raised by journalists on the extension of the two-year agreement between SLFP and UNP, UPFA Parliamentarian Dullas Alahapperuma stated that while making accusations saying the Joint Opposition has undertaken the contract of the UNP government, they themselves state the agreement will be extended up to five years.

Another question was raised on the disciplinary action that will be taken against MPs taking part in the Pada Yathra. In reply, the parliamentarian noted that if there is no underhand dealing with the UNP, it is not a violation of the SLFP discipline.

Explaining further, he noted that when the president was informed about the matter,  the officer in charge was blamed and went on to convey the message to Chamal Rajapaksa
