Expressing his views on the alleged coal scam, General Secretary of the Democractic Left Front, MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara stated that the government has fallen to a level where the auditor general has made “miscalculations.” He has turned against the government and the government also adds that his rulings cannot be accepted.

He added that they are not acting as a legal government if they cannot accept the auditor general’s final verdict with regard to the dealings of the government.

Former Minister, Chandrasiri Wijeysinghe stated that they mislead the members in parliament by reading out a statement prepared by corrupt officials.

He added that before the complete investigative report was presented, an advance report was presented stating that there was no corruption.
