A person has been killed with a sharp weapon in Kalupe, Meetiyagoda.

Police say that the killing had taken place at around 10 p.m. on Sunday. Police further noted that the murder was committed as a result of a dispute that escalated over time.The deceased was a 40-year-old resident of Samanala Uyana.

The body is currently placed at the Arachchikanda. Police said that the post mortem examination will be conducted on Monday.

Extensive investigations have been launched to apprehend the suspect.
