Committee on the demarcation of boundaries of local government institutions has commenced examining the appeals of the north and east.
Secretary to the Ministry of local Government Provincial Councils, Kamal Padmasiri said that the discussions will get underway with the people who forwarded the petitions.
He said that appeals have been forwarded by the people citing that the current methodology for demarcation remains flawed.
The Committee on the demarcation of boundaries of local government institutions comprises of five representatives of political parties.
The secretary says the ministry aims to determine a fair way of demarcating the electoral divisions by examining the appeals.
