The Sri Lanka – Australia New Zealand Business Council organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce took place this evening in Colombo.
The event was graced by the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Bryce Hutchesson and the Honorary Consul for New Zealand in Sri Lanka, Senaka Silva.
Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Bryce Hutchesson noted that it is the business community hat looks for new ways, to make the most – not only in traditional industries but to search new areas of growth, to tap in to regional and global value chains and to move up the value chain.
He added that it is going to be important to Sri Lanka “as it is critical in all of this that government and business, and when possible labour, work together to seize these opportunities to pursue the necessary structural and policy changes and to confront the challenges head on.
