One thousand eight hundred and fifty three (1853) Sri Lanka Transport Board employees have applied for voluntary retirement so far.Chairman of the SLTB Ramal Siriwardena said the deadline to apply for voluntary retirement has been extended to July 31.
The chairman stated that those employees who are not drivers, conductors or those who do not belong to the mechanical cadre can apply for the early retirement scheme.
He further said that those who retire voluntarily will be compensated.
