The annual Poson “Maha Perehera” of the Rangiri Raja Maha Viharaya in Ambalantota paraded the streets on Friday night.The procession began after Minister Sajith Premadasa placed the casket bearing the sacred relics on top of the main tusker of the Perehera.

Minister of Housing and Construction, Sajith Premadasa stated that the main aim of engaging in such events is to ensure that we protect and uplift the Buddha Sasana.

“As a government, we will do everything in our power for this purpose”, said the Minister of Housing and construction, who added that it is the government’s responsibility towards the country as well as towards the Buddha Sasana
