The Colombo Municipal Council says that eight high risk areas which are prone to Dengue breeding grounds have been identified in the district of Colombo.

Chief Medical Officer of the CMC, Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni, says that the majority of Dengue cases have been reported from the Eastern parts of the Districts. He added that a rise in Dengue cases is possible owing to the Dengue breeding grounds found at construction sites within these areas.

The National Dengue Control Unit says that the three-day Dengue Prevention Programme which was launched in the Western Province is set to conclude on Saturday, June 18.
