Mt. Lavinia Magistrate’s Court grants bail to Yoshitha Rajapaksa

Yoshitha Rajapaksa was granted bail by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, June 16, over the alleged purchasing of a plot of land located down Mihindu Mawatha, Mount Lavinia.

The land in question is said to be worth Rs. 501 million.

Yoshitha was granted bail on three sureties of one million rupees each, after being produced to court by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID). He was also ordered to report to the Police FCID during the morning hours on the last Sunday of the month.

The case is to be taken up once again on August 11.

Meanwhile, the Media Spokesperson of the National Freedom Front Mohammed Muzammil was summoned before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division today to obtain a statement on the charge of allegedly using vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat in an illegal manner.
