Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who is in the country on a two day official visit, called on President Maithripala Sirisena today.
Discussions between the President and the Turkish Foreign Minister, that took place at the president’s official residence, focussed on strengthening relations and cooperation between the two nations.
According to the Presidential Media Unit, discussions were also focussed on increasing Turkish investments in the country.The media unit added that the visiting foreign minister had expressed the support of Turkey towards helping Sri Lanka improve its economy.
Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu called on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees on Wednesday morning.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also met with his Sri Lankan Counterpart Mangala Samaraweera and thereafter addressed the media.
