A fundamental rights petition filed at the Supreme Court by Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa has been rejected.
The petition was filed seeking that he is not arrested by the FCID. In his petition, Basil Rajapaksa says that attempts are being made to arrest him on the basis of a false B report documented to court by the Police FCID.
Thereby, he requested the Supreme Court to inquire into this B report and issue an order preventing any possible arrest.
However, considering the petition, the Supreme Court informed that if the B report is challenged at the Supreme Court, the police will be unable to carry out further investigations which resulted in the dismissal of the petition.
