The Ministry of Health says that people in the Kosgama area could suffer from respiratory illnesses as a result of the thick smoke emitting from the fire that broke out at the Salawa Army camp in Kosgama.
Director General of Health Services Dr. Palitha Maheepala said that if any person is suffering from breathing difficulties, they should immediately obtain treatment from the closest government hospital.
Dr. Palitha Maheepala pointed out that residents in the Kosgama area should exercise caution when consuming water from open wells.
