Suwa Yathra to tackle health concerns in wake of recent floods

News1st who is always been there to provide relief when people are affected by natural disasters, launched the Sirasa, Shakthi, John Keells Suwa Yathra today taking into consideration the health concerns of those who were affected.

The Suwa Yathra was launched at the environs of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya.

The Suwa Yathra which was launched with the motive of restoring the health to those who lost both wealth and health during the recent over flowing of the Kelani River commenced under the blessings of the Chief Incumbent of the Kelani Raja Maha Viharaya, Ven. Dr. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sanga Rakkitha Thero.

Flood affected people from Colombo and Gampaha districts arrived in their numbers since this morning to obtain services from the medical teams.

Many medical teams comprising of pharmacists, physiotherapists, medical technicians and ECG technicians rendered their services through out the day to these people who are destitute.

Meanwhile our teams took measures to distribute dry rations to flood affected people.

Chathurika Sirisena daughter of President Maithripala Sirisena was also present..

Many private and government organizations including John Keels holdings, government medical officer’s association, Ewis Organization, Department of Registrar general joined hands with newsfirst in this endeavor.
