The Sirasa John Keells Vesak Zone organized to celebrate the festival of Vesak will commence on Saturday (May 21st).
The processions carrying the relics to the Vesak Zone marked day four today (May 20).
The processions carrying the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha and the Relics of the Maha Rahath Theros commenced from the Purana-Kanda Raja Maha Temple in Nittambuwa. The motorcade is expected to reach the Kalaniya Raja Maha Viharaya after passing Pasyala, Kadawatha, Kiribathgoda and Kelaniya.
Meanwhile the procession carrying the Agrashawaka relics of the Arahants Sariputta and Moggallana, commenced today’s journey from the Radhdhegama Kihimbi Ela Sri Wijeywardhanaramaya and made its way towards the Kalutara Bodhi through Baddegama, Elpitiya , Bentota and Beruwala.
The relics being transported from two different locations is en-route to reach the Sirasa John Keels Vesak Zone tomorrow.
