Microsoft is opening up more possibilities for its growing list of Xbox 360 titles that run on the newer Xbox One console. The company has quietly enabled multi-disc games — starting with Deux Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut — to work with Xbox One’s backwards compatibility feature.

This comes after apparent concerns that it might not be possible for the console to emulate its predecessor for games spanning multiple discs. But Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) confirmed on Reddit that the backwards compatibility team has found a way.

We’re too far removed from last gen for me to instantly recall any two- or three-disc games that I’d love to replay, but for those of you who can, well, there are no more technological hurdles. That said, even some games that “support” backwards compatibility don’t always run so smoothly. But for the most part it’s been a great feature add to Microsoft’s latest console.
