Former Minister Mervyn Silva was summoned to the Police FCID on Saturday to record a statement with regard to investigations being carried out over the sale of a state land in the Kiribathgoda area.

The former minister charged that the FCID was launched too late, and if the FCID was there from the beginning, politicians wouldn’t have become thieves, or murderers, or burglars

The former minister also stated that no revelations can be made on investigation since it is still an ongoing process. The Former Minister was questioned with regard to Basil Rajapaksa’s visit to Nawagamuwa on Saturday to smash coconuts.

“I can tell you that the coconuts he smashes will not be accepted by the gods”, replied the Former Minister who pointed out that this is because they have committed much wrong.

He added that a statement will be made with regard to Basil Rajapaksa’s Saturday visit to Nawagamuwa on Monday, at 10 a.m.
