MP Namal Rajapaksa was summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into large scale fraud and corruption.
According to our correspondent, MP Namal Rajapaksa appeared at the commission at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning. MP Namal Rajapaksa was summoned to the Commission to provide a statement pertaining to the investigations against former minister Basil Rajapaksa for using over Rs.150 million for domestic flights.
UPFA MP, Namal Rajapaksa stated that he was summoned over an anonymous complaint made over domestic flights. He added that at present they inquire as to why the invoices were paid for the flights, and not where the flights were to.
Questions were raised over an accusation made by Sajin de Vaas. In reply to the question, the MP noted that it will be witnessed once he speaks it out. Another question was raised that Sajin Vass has stated that Namal Rajapaksa was the reason for him to be denied nomination.
In reply, he added that it is not right since his conscience knows the reason as to why he did not get nominated as he was the one who went to drop him to prison.
