Train services between Galle and Matara has been suspended with effect from Friday night.

Railway Operating Superintendent, Wijaya Samarasinghe stated that railway services were suspended owing to the renovation of a bridge between Unawatuna and Katugoda.

He added that railway services from Maradana and Kandy to Matara will be restricted to Galle as well.  Explaining further, he added that a special bus service will be in operation between Galle and Matara during this time period.
