Republican front-runner Donald Trump swept to a commanding victory in Indiana yesterday putting him on a glide path to the party’s presidential nomination when Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, announced in Indianapolis, after losing the Indiana primary to his rival Trump that he “will be suspending his campaign.
“It is a beautiful thing to watch, and a beautiful thing to behold,We are going to make America great again” charged the real estate mogul in his address to the supporters at Trump Tower in New York after cruising to his seventh straight state-wide victory.
Clinton on Tuesday suffered an upset in Indiana as her rival Bernie Sanders clinched a victory after coming up from behind .Sanders, a self-declared socialist, beat Clinton by 53.2 percent to 46.8 percent with about three quarters of precincts reporting although Clinton remained well ahead in the overall delegate battle for the nomination
